About Ele

For more than a decade, I managed human rights projects in danger-pay-locales including Kabul, Afghanistan and Juba, South Sudan before returning home to Toronto and turning to fiction to ground my experiences. Of the many cities I’ve lived in around the world, I love Toronto, and all its tales, best.

My stories have been published in the Nashwaak Review and Globe and Mail’s Fact and Arguments. Still an avid adventurer, you can find me packing for a trip two or three times a year and incorporating subsequent reflections into my writing. I’m not opposed to eavesdropping to develop a story idea.

You can find me on Facebook (Ele Pawelski) and Twitter (@eleinthecity).
